Sergey Karaganov, Russian political analyst and Chairman of the Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, was the only Russian to be included in the list of the world’s Top 100 public intellectuals, drawn up by two leading analytical magazines, Foreign Policy (USA) and The Prospect (UK). The top 100 were selected by the magazines’ editorial boards, and readers were invited to vote in the Internet for their top five intellectuals in the world.
Sergey Karaganov was named among well-known public figures and political thinkers, among them Jean Baudrillard, Jagdish Bhagwati, Pope Benedict XVI, Václav Havel, Noam Chomsky, Samuel Huntington, Francis Fukuyama, Umberto Eco, and many others.
